3. Create new legislation
resulting in new laws, which brings a new beginning
of freedom to consumer related aerial fireworks in
Oregon, much the same as is enjoyed by our neighbors
across the border in Washington, and also addressing
the restrictive controls placed on land use laws
providing for the storage of display fireworks,
allowing for them to be stored in type 4 magazines
on land zoned farm/forest by any holder of BATFE
licensed to do so. This new legislation would
include but not be limited to:
- Adopting BATFE regulation in the place of Oregon
State regulation when both address the same issues
regarding:
- manufacturing
- hobby
- sales of fireworks or displays
- importation
- storage
Adopting NFPA guidelines in place of Oregon State
guidelines for operator permitting and for shooting
of public displays.
Permitting of fireworks displays to be handled by local fire authority instead of by Oregon State Fire
Marshall’s Office.
